Thank you for inquiring about work with Portland Evening and Summer Scholars (PESS).  We are a high school credit recovery program which enrolls students into any of the graduation-required courses for Portland Public Schools.  Below you will find useful information regarding our hiring process.

All hires are temporary, limited-term positions.  

We will contact you if we are interested in setting an interview.

Lastly, it is important to understand that we hire based on our student enrollment.  This means that we may interview and hire a staff member in anticipation of the need but, after enrollment is complete, we may not have enough students to actually have you work with us.  We know this is not ideal but we enroll students up through the day prior to classes beginning and we must have teachers hired and ready to take on a class by the next day.
